Our Story …

Help us help the Cancer Council!

Our team 'Lemon Fresh' is an official entrant to the 2024 Mystery Box Rally! Team Lemon Fresh will drive approximately 2,500kms in 5 days as part of a convoy of cars raising money for the Cancer Council.

Mystery Box Rally is one of the largest community-led fundraising events for Cancer Council in Australia having raised over $7 million in the last 11 years. This rally will test our recently purchased 1998 Toyota Echo (The Lemon) across rough but fun terrain from Airlie Beach to who knows where.

As many of you know, Lee's mum passed away at aged 44 from Brain and Lung cancer when Lee was 18. Further to this, as a health care professional. Lee has seen many people affected by this disease. Lots of these people, are people that Lee will never forget. From the 9 year old, who was enjoying life and laughing up until her last day to the young mum who did everything she could to give her kids the best life possible without her around.

Our goal is to raise at least $4,000 and every dollar raised goes to Cancer Council. We would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the cause & help us on our journey!

Here's what I'm doing …

Mystery Box Rally is a 5-day challenge like no other. Participants drive 25+ year old cars along a mystery route, through some of Australia’s most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It’s not a race—it’s a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that’s all part of the fun. The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way. And when the day’s drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day’s achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways—whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we’ll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
